Welcome to the Fort McKay Fiber Mill

Home

We are a cottage fiber mill specializing in carding fleece and fiber into batts, loose roving, and roving bumps. These products can be used by spinners and other fiber artisans to make yarn and felting projects.

We are accepting fiber at this time!

Please contact us to discuss your fiber project; and if your fiber passes this initial inspection we will send you an order/submittal form to submit with your fleece.

We have a finite amount of storage space, and, frankly, we don't want to hold your fiber for months on end. So we try to keep our backlog on the smaller side so when you send us your fiber we can process it and send you the final product in a reasonable amount of time.

TESTIMONIALS

If you are looking for custom fiber processing, you will want to know about Fort McKay Fiber Mill! I sent my raw shetland and alpaca fleeces to Cindy and Scott, and I am so pleased by both the quality of their work and their turn around time. I couldn't believe how quickly my order was finished and back into my hands! This is by far the most positive experience I've had with processing my fiber. They did a phenomenal job blending some the Shetland and alpaca together into a perfectly balanced, seamless roving. The textures are handled flawlessly, everything is spotlessly clean with very little debris, and carded into the most beautiful, cloud-like prep that is a total dream to spin. Cindy and Scott provide amazing communication and top-tier work. We are so incredibly lucky to have them in our community ~ I'll definitely be a repeat customer and highly recommend them.
